CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

OLIVIA VEGUS (CHARACTER) She is a visual artist and the director of the school’s art program.

Olivia took the art world by storm when she was 15, winning a prestigious art commission to create contemporary artwork for the Guggenheim Museum foyer in New York. Her work has been showcased at various galleries in Manhattan ever since. Never one to settle on any specific direction, Olivia has excelled in all areas of visual arts: painting, sculpture, photography, multi-media and large-scale theatre and film productions. After two years of wooing, William Miller was finally able to convince Olivia to take a Director’s position at the School, paying her exceptionally well and allowing her to take sabbaticals yearly to pursue her own work.
Olivia refuses to abide by any ‘rules’, she believes they stifle the spirit and creativity. This enables her to stimulate her students to create truly amazing art, but gets her into hot water with ‘authority’. She never stays in trouble for long, because her playfulness and sheer vibrancy win everyone over.

FAMOUS AUDITION MONOLOGUE

You may write your own monologue -

* Firstly you will do your performance piece with a brief introduction (in character – first names only when introducing your characters in your audition. ) Perform a solo musical number, dance or any performance piece – no more than 2 minutes long. Musical instruments allowed.
* Then you will talk directly to camera in the character you have chosen – its like a personal video blog – speak in any language or accent you choose.
