CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

TOM (CHARACTER) Tom is Freddie Mecury – “Queen”

Tom has known the Blackwells for as long as he can remember, and was taken into their home after the murder of his father. When Maria’s mother left, the relationship between Tom and Maria deepened, sharing similar passions and a drive to succeed in the entertainment industry.
However, Tom’s attraction to the darker side of life and his growing intrigue in the Blackwell business dealings have been very seductive. Over the last two years, Tom has become more and more embroiled with gang dealings and loyalties. An ice habit has developed into a dangerous addiction and aggravates within him an extremely violent nature. With paranoia, aggression and a desperate need to be adored building within him, Tom could explode at any moment. And Maria is finding that a little frightening to live with.Tom is also bisexual.

You may write your own monologue -

* Firstly you will do your performance piece with a brief introduction (in character – first names only when introducing your characters in your audition. ) Perform a solo musical number, dance or any performance piece – no more than 2 minutes long. Musical instruments allowed.
* Then you will talk directly to camera in the character you have chosen – its like a personal video blog – speak in any language or accent you choose.
* You can write the monologue to suit the character you have developed
